The Western Regional Health Authority (a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health & Wellness) is currently seeking to employ a Transport Supervisor for the Falmouth Public General Hospital

 

Under the general supervision of the Parish Administrator and Operations Manager, the incumbent’s core responsibility will be to: 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures and objectives to promote organizational efficiency 
  • Direct activities related to the scheduling, dispatching and tracking of vehicles within the parish 
  • Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinates to ensure duties are accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements 
  • Implement and monitor an effective preventative and corrective fleet maintenance programme 
  • Keep record of all maintenance and servicing activities and maintaining a cycle 
  • Interact with regional team and other departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems and processes 
  • Direct investigations to address and resolve anomalies and customer complaints
  • Ensure the transport operations remain within the budgeted guidelines
  • Perform other related duties assigned 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Operations Management or its equivalent 
  • Minimum two (2) years’ work experience in a similar capacity 
  • Certificate in Supervisory Management would be an asset 

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Sound knowledge of motor vehicles and repairs 
  • Sound knowledge of the Comprehensive Motor Vehicle Policy for the Public Sector
  • Driver’s License General no less than 3500 kg 
  • Knowledge of the GOJ/Public Procurement policies and procedures 
  • Working Knowledge of computer applications 
  • Excellent knowledge of Public Sector Regulations 
  • Good written and oral communication skills 
  • Proactive work attitude and good interpersonal relation skills 
  • The ability to work on own initiative
