The successful candidate will deliver practical and theoretical instruction in Building and Furniture Technology, focusing on carpentry, joinery, construction methods, and safety standards. The teacher will prepare students for the CSEC Industrial Technology exams, promote craftsmanship, and support vocational training aligned with industry standards and national curriculum requirements.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology, Technical and Vocational Education, Construction, or related field
· Teacher training certification from a recognised institution
· Certification in Carpentry/Joinery or relevant construction trade is an asset
· Familiarity with the National Standards Curriculum (NSC) and CSEC syllabus in Industrial Technology
· Competence in both theory and hands-on workshop instruction
· Strong classroom management and technical safety skills
· Plan and deliver practical and theoretical lessons in building construction and furniture making
· Guide students through CSEC coursework and projects
· Maintain a safe, organised, and well-equipped workshop environment
· Integrate technical drawing, measurement, and sustainability principles into instruction
· Supervise student assessments and provide regular feedback
· Participate in school improvement planning and technical department initiatives
· Proficiency in basic computer applications and instructional technology
· Knowledge of workplace safety standards and maintenance procedures
· Strong communication, mentoring, and organisational skills
Salary: In accordance with Ministry of Finance and the Public Service salary scales.
