Objectives and Purpose of the Job:
The Warehouse Attendant is responsible for assisting with the daily operations and management of the warehouse, ensuring that all tasks related to the storage, inventory management, and shipment of products are carried out efficiently and safely. This role involves a hands-on approach to support the overall functionality of the warehouse operations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments to verify accuracy and quality of products, reporting any discrepancies promptly.
- Accurately store products in designated areas within the warehouse, ensuring efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment to facilitate the smooth operation of daily activities.
- Pick and pack items for outgoing shipments, ensuring that all orders are correct and processed in a timely manner.
- Assist in conducting regular inventory counts and audits to ensure stock accuracy and update records as needed.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels and movements, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
- Assist in loading and unloading delivery trucks, utilizing appropriate equipment and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively and to support overall team goals.
- Report any equipment malfunctions and safety hazards to the Warehouse Supervisor immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the warehouse.
Requirements
- School Leaving Certificate or its equivalent
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control processes.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (certification preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds.
- Good time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
