Main purpose of the Role:

This position is responsible for the coordination, planning and documentation handling of ZIM’s Transshipment Cargo through the port of Kingston and Freeport.


Main Tasks

Booking Recaps:

 Timely submission of booking recaps as per agreed timelines with Norfolk and LABU’s Marketing departments and second carriers.

 Accurately capturing in the bookings / load ready/ load list all available containers on the terminals at Kingston and Freeport. (Transshipment hubs)  


Accuracy of Inbound and Outbound files: 

 Ensuring bookings reconcile with actual sailings, while maintaining 100 percent success rate. 

 Coordinate all discrepancies for completion within 24hours after vessel departs Kingston.

 To short-ship and update loading instructions for units that missed connections, such as revanned, damaged, lost and or detained units. 


Service Delivery:

 To respond to queries received from internal departments, Shippers, Consignees, terminals and ZIM agents within 24 hours of receipt

 Keeping commitments where research and follow-up are required. 


Inventory / Aged cargo:

 To reconcile terminals’ aging with transshipment aging and batch data according to vessels along with the necessary attachments.

 To prepare and submit completed Vessel Check sheets to Manager/Supervisor after vessel departure.


Terminals, Security and Customs:  

 Ensuring diverted, hold and short shipped bills-of lading are correctly updated in the transshipment planning system, for vessels in assigned services, prior to the submission of the Coprar file.

 Providing and following up with Jamaica Customs and Security Administrators Ltd regarding seal discrepancies, certificate information and the next connecting vessel information, within 24hrs of receipt.


Other Transshipment ports (Freeport):  

 Accurate and timely submission of booking, load lists, Documentation for Special Cargo and various Customs transmissions in Freeport, at least 48 hours prior to vessels’ arrival.


KPIs

• To provide all discharge, ACR, bookings and load files within in the established timelines.

• Responding to customers queries within KPI24hours of receipt.

• Service delivery - timely delivery of containers to Customers. 

• Reconciliation of Terminal Inventory with ZIM’s.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Shipping Logistics or equivalent 

• Minimum of two years in the shipping industry with experience in transshipment operations and customer service.

• Good knowledge of global shipping practices, transportation, equipment, information systems and documentation requirements.

• Principles, practices and procedures of Terminal operations, cargo loading and discharge procedures.

• Understanding of Customs transshipment requirements.

• Competent in Computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and statistical databases 

• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.

• Second language (Spanish) is an asset.

• Aptitude to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks, with appropriate responsiveness in a time sensitive environment.  

• Ability to work outside of normal working hours, weekends and holidays.

• This job is performed both in a normal office environment, and may require visits to the Ports
