Let There Be Light Christian Residential Academy is hiring subject tutors for the CSEC Intensive, a free small-group tutoring and mentorship program for students in St. Elizabeth entering their CSEC exam year, many affected by Hurricane Melissa's disruption to their schooling. We're recruiting for Mathematics and English Language as priority subjects.
What you'll do:
- Deliver small-group tutoring (no more than 1:4 ratio) targeted to each student's actual gaps against the CSEC syllabus
- Work with the same group of students consistently for the full term
- Use baseline diagnostic results to guide instruction
Who we're looking for:
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics or English Language
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience preferred
- Patient, consistent, and comfortable working with students recovering from real disruption
Schedule: 5 sessions per week, 75-minute academic block per session. Term: September 2026 through May 2027. Background check and safeguarding screening required before start.
Experience level: Select "Entry Level" or "Intermediate" if those are your dropdown options, given prior teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory, this shouldn't be filed under "Experienced" or "Manager" tier if those exist.
Required experience: Minimum 1 year tutoring or teaching experience preferred
Salary: JMD $400-800 per hour, based on subject expertise and experience
Valid until: I'd suggest 2026-08-29, giving roughly two and a half weeks for applications while still leaving time to interview and onboard before the September start. Adjust this based on your real timeline, this is my judgment, not a fixed deadline you've set.
