Under the direction of the Supervisor, the AC & Refrigeration Technician will be responsible for carrying out general servicing, maintenance and repairs to the Split AC Units at the various health facilities within the parish.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification from a recognized institution in Advanced Air Conditioning
- A minimum of two (2) years’ working experience in the field of Air Conditioning
- Possession of a reliable motor vehicle is an asset
Specific Knowledge and Required Skills:
- Excellent Knowledge of AC Units and specifications of a variety of AC manufacturers
- In depth knowledge of the new Inverter Technology AC units
- Ability to perform repairs on AC compressors, replacing fan motors, charging AC systems
- Excellent planning skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Possession of the necessary equipment for the servicing, repairs and maintenance of Split AC Units
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining AC Units in functional condition by conducting inspections; replacing parts and components including fleet vehicles.
- Containing cost by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
- Maintaining AC Units appearance by cleaning vents, washing coils and painting.
- Maintaining AC records by recording service and repairs.
