Under the direction of the Project Accountant, the incumbent certifies payment and journal vouchers and prepares reports.
Key Outputs:
- Monthly status report on project expenditure
- Payment vouchers certified
- Journals certified
- Subsidiary records maintained
- Information provided upon request
- Key Responsibility Areas:
- Prepares payment vouchers manually and electronically
- Prepares monthly project expenditure Capital A and B reports
- Responds to customers queries on matters relating to the areas of responsibility
- Prepares variance reporting between budgetary allocation and expenditure
- Participate in the preparation of annual budgets for all projects
- Report on funds availability for each project
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual cash flow requests
- Prepare judgement payments
- Liaises with the Attorney Generals Chambers on judgement matters
- Prepares other ad hoc expenditure reports, as requested
- Assist in preparing responses to Audit Queries
- Files and secures Accounting records
- Performs other duties assigned
Performance Standards:
This job is satisfactorily performed when:
- Payment vouchers are accurately certified within the agreed timeframe and in accordance with the established policies, practices and procedures
- Payments are processed accurately and made within the agreed timeframe and within the established guidelines
- Expenditure reports accurately drafted
- Responses to audit queries drafted, within the given timeline
- Confidentiality and integrity are exercised

Minimum Required Education and Experience
Qualifications and Experience
- AAT Level 2 or;
- ACCA-CAT level 2 or;
- Certificate in Accounting or;
- Completion of second year in B.Sc. in Accounting or Management Studies or;
- A. Sc. – Accounting, MIND or;
- Government Accounting Level 2.
