This position is responsible for conducting Compliance, Financial Statements and Appropriations Accounts Audits in assigned Ministries, Department, Agencies, Public & Statutory Bodies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Technical/Professional 

  • Conducts Compliance, Financial Statements & Appropriations Accounts Audits in accordance with the AuGD’s established policies and procedures. 
  • Consults with Senior Auditors to determine audit objectives, data extraction point, required information and report formats for data analysis requests. 
  • Liaises with auditees to obtain an understanding of business rules, systems, processes and procedures. 
  • Participates in planning, Entrance and Exit meetings and takes appropriate Minutes. 
  • Performs audits in keeping with international best practices and AuGD’s established standards. 
  • Drafts audit queries, Working Papers and communication for submission to Team Lead 

Other Responsibilities 

  • Performs any other related duties that may be assigned.

  • Audits are completed in accordance with established standards and agreed timeframe. 
  • Working papers are completed in accordance with established standards and agreed timeframe. 
  • Reports, queries and correspondence are completed in accordance with established standards and agreed timeframe.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Management Studies ; OR 
  • ACCA – Fundamentals or equivalent with no experience; OR 
  • Qualification for entry-level audit position plus at least two (2) years experience in auditing or accounting 
  • Experience in conducting audits would be as asset
