Caretaker

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Facilities Manager the Caretaker is responsible to provide care to the buildings and grounds of the Agricultural Marketing Complex. The caretaker will also provide assistance to tenants of the complex and report any issues identified or communicated by tenants or others to the Facilities Manager. 

Key Responsibilities Includes

• Responsible for locking up after work and opening the main office block and main warehouse in the mornings 
• Reports any damage done to property, including perimeter fencing, furnishings, furniture, buildings, water pipes and lights and do repairs where possible 
• Supervises garbage collection and disposal 
• Prepares warehouses and offices for new tenants 
• Distributes mails and invoices to tenants 
• Work closely with security officers to ensure that security measures are properly executed 
• Ensures all lights and air condition units are turned off each evening where accessible 

Other 

• Performs other duties assigned from time to time by your Supervisor.

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience

• Functionally literate and able to communicate 
• Secondary Education 
• Previous Experience as Caretaker or Security Officer would be an asset
