The incumbent is responsible for the collection of fees from clients and recording cash received on a daily basis including the provision of general customer service and a medium in which relations between internal and external clients are realized.
Qualification and Experience
- Four (4) ‘O’ Level/CXC subjects; including passes in English Language and Mathematics
- Certificate in Accounting or in-service training in Government Accounting and Voucher Preparation are assets
- Two years related experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive relevant documents from personnel, and collects the appropriate fees from clients according to user fee policy in place.
- Prepare and issue an official receipt to patients for the exact amount collected.
- Balance cash receipts with cash collected and prepares report on a daily basis.
- At the end of each shift/day, hands over cash collected and summary report to designated officer and obtain receipt for same.
- Ensure that all cash that is not collected by the designated officer, receipt books and cheques are locked away in the vault at the end of each shift/day.
- Assist with the preparation of daily/weekly and monthly reports.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and honesty
