Culinary Laboratory Assistant

Job Purpose:

The culinary Laboratory Assistant provides direction to culinary students and assists the instructor in the preparation and production of all hot and cold foods, baked goods and pastries in an instructional kitchen.

Requirements:

The preferred applicant should possess:

• Diploma in General Catering/Baking Technology/Pastry Making/Cake Decorating or equivalent qualification;
• Food Handler’s Permit
• Good knowledge of food preparation and service techniques
• Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
• In-depth knowledge of personal hygiene and sanitation standards
• Good communication, interpersonal, customer service, reasoning, time management detail-oriented skills; and
• At least two (2) years’ experience in a related environment
