The National Works Agency, an Executive Agency of the Government of Jamaica, is seeking suitably qualified individuals for the position of Data Collection Technician

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four (4) CXC/GCE or equivalent including English and Mathematics, science and or building subjects preferred
  • At least two (2) years working experience road construction/ traffic management environment.

 

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Details conscious
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Interpersonal and team skills
  • Mathematicaly inclined

 

CORE FUNCTION

  • To collect road related data, such as; pedestrian, vehicle classification, vehicle weights, origin destination studies and traffic counts

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Reports to: Data Collection Supervisor

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct traffic engineering field studies as directed, including but not limited to:

  • Traffic surveys
  • Pedestrian studies
  • Roadside interviews
  • Delay studies
  • Compliance studies
  • Serve land acquisition notices
