The incumbent will handle laboratory and field testing, quality control, product evaluation, geotechnical analysis, updating lab practices, preparing reports, and maintaining testing standards for NWA projects.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BSc. Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or the successful completion of Parts A and B of the examination of the Institution of Civil Engineers
- A minimum of 5 years Post Graduate experience in Civil Engineering, Geology or equivalent, with experience in the testing and evaluating of soil/material.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS
- Responsible for all phases of laboratory and field testing of soil, concrete and asphaltic material
- Quality control testing associated with the monitoring of construction of bridges, buildings and roads under the NWA programme
- Evaluation of new products for road improvement
- Specialized skills in Geotechnical investigation and analysis
- Review and update laboratory practices/facilities to ensure alignment with current national/international best practices
- Prepare technical reports and provide feedback in support of projects being managed by the NWA.
- Maintain current testing standards/procedures for performing analyses.
