Provide technical advice and support to road planners and relevant team members, including processing development control applications, reviewing modification requests, attending court hearings, and conducting surveys and research.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor in Urban Physical Planning, Geography or equivalent
  • Three to Five years experience in a planning environment
  • Supervisory training and experience desirable
  • Post graduate/advance training in planning and development 

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sound knowledge of research methodologies, survey techniques and statistical methods 
  • Competence in assessing development Subdivision, Advertisement plans, Restrictive Covenants
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of relevant computer applications and systems
  • Highly developed analytic and problems-solving skills
  • Interpersonal and team skills
  • Creamily, innovation and problem solving

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Reports to: Manager-Development Control and Physical Planning 

 

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide technical advice to Road Planners, Planning Technologists, or relevant team members
  • Support the Manager Development Control in processing of development control application
  • Review and comment on request for modifications and guidelines and attend final court hearings relating to Restrictive Covenants
  • Review and process Development and Subdivision Applications circulated to the Agency by the National Environment & Planning Agency (NEPA), the fourteen (14) Municipal Corporations and the Negril Green Island Area Local Planning Authority.
  • Process applications for the erection of advertisement hoarding and maintenance of a database identifying location of all advertisement reviewed
  • Conduct investigations and responses to complaints assigned
  • Prepare/recommend layout of projected traffic flow and circulation patterns for traffic management projects
  • Participate in the development of long-term road network plans With the Network Planning Team 
  • Represent the Agency at Planning and Development Committee at Local Planning Authorities as assigned
  • Carryout required site visits to location of proposed developments or subdivisions.
  • Conduct Surveys and Research along the Road Network
