The Revenue Analyst assists in analyzing revenue statistics, identifying collection variations, and aiding management in improving efficiencies, while ensuring strategic plans align with policy objectives and budget allocations.

 

Job Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Revenue Analyst, the Revenue Analyst is responsible: 

  • To assist with analysing the Agency’s revenue statistics, identify areas of significant variations in collections and assist management in identifying areas for improved efficiencies.??? 
  • To ensure that operational leaders develop strategic plans which reflect the Agency’s policy objectives consistent with budgetary allocation and are capable of measurement.? 

 

Key Responsibilities

Technical/Professional Responsibilities 

  • Assist with analysing the Agency’s revenue statistics, especially in tariff items, trade preferences and Government policy on Industry and Investment.  
  • Assist with monitoring economic conditions, conducting due diligence, and using this information to develop integrated revenue analyses, projections, reports and presentations regarding the impact of any designated action on the organisation.  
  • Participate in identifying the Agency’s financial status by comparing and analysing actual revenue results with plans and forecasts. 
  • Provide the Senior Revenue Analyst with data that will enable the development of appropriate budgeting strategies to help the Agency cut costs and waste. 
  • Assist with identifying revenue control risk areas and develop and implement revenue control plans. 
  • Participate in recommending actions and strategies for increasing revenue by analysing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses, studying proposed changes in methods and materials. 
  • Provide the Senior Revenue Analyst with reports on revenue collections and targets for each collection point.  
  • Participate in identifying causes of significant variations in collections month over month and year over year.  
  • Reviews organisational billing practices to ensure invoice accuracy and proper revenue recognition. 
  • Maintains a database of up-to-date and analytical information regarding Agency Revenue Collection and comparative analysis at the macro and micro levels.  
  • Provides the Senior Revenue Analyst with timely reports on the results of the analyses and interpretations. 
  • Prepare weekly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports for management. 
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential. 

Customer Service Responsibilities 

  • Maintains customer service principles, standards, and measurements. 
  • Identifies and incorporates the interests and needs of customers in business process design.   
  • Ensures critical success factors are identified and meet expectations.  

Other Responsibilities  

  • Performs all other duties and functions as may be required from time to time.????  
  • May be required to provide witness statements, attend court proceedings, and give evidence.  
  • Complies with Health and Safety policies.

  • Familiarity with trade statistics and the Harmonized Tariff system.  
  • Sound knowledge of the principles of budgeting and finance.  
  • Sound knowledge of practices, procedures, and techniques involved in the design, development, and implementation of projects, surveys, and studies in organisational assessment, planning, research, and decision-making 
  • Sound knowledge of standard qualitative and quantitative research methodology, including standard qualitative and quantitative procedures applied to operations research. 
  • Knowledge of Software Revenue Recognition, business operations and computer software, including Microsoft Excel, Oracle Financials and data mining applications, would be advantageous. 
  • Working knowledge of the relevant computer systems and applications. 

 

Minimum Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Trade Relations or a related field. 
  • At least three (3) years of experience in revenue analysis and forecasting. 
  • Specialized training/experience in: 
  • Tax Administration. 
  • strategic planning and management 
  • project management.
