Assess road development proposals, recommend mitigation alternatives, update guidelines, conduct impact analyses, design traffic layouts, collaborate on projects, process applications, and represent the Agency at planning meetings.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Urban/Physical Planning or equivalent
  • At least three years' experience in a planning environment
  • Training in road planning methods
  • Training in Development Control particularly Development & Subdivision Approval Process
  • Training in Project Planning and Appraisal 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess proposal for road development.
  • Recommend optionslalternatives to mitigate impact on communities, businesses or other stakeholders affected by proposed developments of road network.
  • Research new and update existing planning guidelines for team members.
  • Conduct surveys, analyses, and impact of projects.
  • Prepare/recommend layout of projected traffic flow and circulation patterns for traffic management projects.
  • Collaborate with Highway Planning Team and Major Projects in developing new road projects and improvements to existing highways.
  • Process Developments, Subdivisions, Advertisement, and other types of applications
  • Represent the Agency at assigned Planning/Development committee meetings.
  • Sound knowledge of research methodologies, survey techniques and statistical methods.
  • Knowledge of road planning techniques
