The incumbent will assist in the general day-to-day operations of the accounting department in meeting its strategic objective. Ensures timely updates of financial information to facilitate the production of Financial Reports and Audits.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- At least 5 years' experience working in an accounting department at a senior level.
- BSc in Business Administration Or
- BSC Accounting /Management Studies Or
- ACCA Level 2.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Database).
- Working Knowledge of Sage Accounting Software.
- Smart Pay or similar payroll solutions.
- Knowledge of International Accounting Standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to)
- Assist the Finance Manager to achieve an efficient accounting department.
- Assist with the preparation of the Annual Budget.
- Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements.
- Prepare monthly Appropriation-In-Aid Report.
- Reconcile General Ledger and Sub-ledger accounts.
- Preparation of Monthly schedules of account balances.
- Check and verify staff, board, and fortnightly payroll.
- Ensure GCT, Statutory Returns, Withholding Tax Certificate, Contractor's Levy are paid and filed monthly.
- Supervise the accounting clerks.
- Authorize payments for contractors/suppliers.
- Maintain the company's Fixed Asset Register.
- Ensure adherence to Expenditure Budget.
- Any other duties assigned.
