The Sewage Plant Attendant, under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor will maintain the cleanliness of the sewage treatment plant at the hospital.
Qualification and Experience
- Secondary School Certification
- HEART/NTA Certification in Plumbing Level 1 is an asset

Key Responsibilities will include:
- Continuously cleaning wet well.
- Pumping sewage to the elevated tank.
- Ensuring the lift pump and air pumps are functioning efficiently and all parts are correct and in good order.
- Changing or servicing the lift and air pumps.
- Treating or chlorinating the effluent water as per the agrees frequency.
- Cleaning all manholes in the sewerage network to allowing them to be free from debris.
- Maintaining the log book with correct entries.
- Accounting for the tools and materials of trade and the work area is clean and in good order.
- Priming the eroded spots on the metal equipment.
- Strict adherence to the treatment of waste water policies and procedures.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS ASSOCIATED WITH JOB
- Heavy lifting, frequent bending, pushing and shovelling
- Exposure to large amount of hazardous materials on a daily basis
- Wearing of protective gears for a long period of time
