The National Housing Trust is seeking to identify a Web Developer for its Information Technology Department.

 

JOB PURPOSE

The Web Developer is responsible for coding, designing, implementing and maintaining NHTs websites, web and mobile applications. The incumbent will also be responsible for troubleshooting of applications to ensure functionality and usability, while supporting business efficiency and productivity. 

 

MAIN DUTIES:

Duties specific to the position include but are not limited to the following: 

  • gathering, refining and translating user requirements into functional specifications for development 
  • collaborating with stakeholders for the design and development of relevant applications and content templates 
  • implementing, improving and maintaining websites, web and mobile applications using best software development practices including UI/UX
  • designing and conducting UI and Unit tests to identify bugs and appropriate corrections 
  • assisting with the identification and resolution of application issues 
  • preparing and maintaining technical documentations fa programs and applications 
  • supporting the Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing process 
  • maintaining the appearance of websites in keeping with the content management standards 
  • preparing activity and status reports as required. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate must have: 

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or a related discipline from a registered tertiary institution or equivalent qualification 
  • At least two years working experience in web designing, coding and maintenance in .Net development.

  • Representational State Transfer APIs and web services 
  • search engine optimization principles and cross-browser compatibility issues 
  • financial accounting and mortgage services 
  • computer based business application systems and databases 
  • relational database systems (SQL DB2) 
  • international IT best practices, standards and regulations (web protocols, e-commerce, 
  • PCI Compliance and Data Protection Act etc.)
