1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Ensures that the Videojet Coder is in proper working order and report operation issues to the Maintenance Department.
b) Responsible for the prompt removal of flour from the conveyor to the storage area.
c) Ensures that Broken Bag programme is in keeping with quality standards.
d) Keeps for truck clean and carries out daily checks and services fork truck as required.
e) Assists in the loading and unloading of trucks and trailers at the loading bay.
f) Keeps a count of goods packed.
g) Assists in basic maintenance of the Fork Truck.
h) Assist in changing the battery for the Fork Truck.
i) Removes pallets to an area where they are cleaned.
j) Collects bags from the storehouse and takes them to the packing lines.
k) Carries rolls, broken pallets etc. to the workshop to be repaired.
l) Responsible for the removal of waste and broken bags to designated areas.
m) Tags each completed storage bay with information such as the date, shift time and bay number.
n) Reports any mechanical or electrical problem which may occur to the maintenance work shop.
o) Keeps the palletizer magazine supplied with empty pallets.
p) Ensures that work area is always kept clean.
q) Performs quality checks on tasks being done.
r) Performs any other related duties which may be assigned from time to time.
2. EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION/COMPETENCIES
a) High School Diploma
b) Technical Forklift Operation Certification
c) Firm understanding of warehousing procedures
d) Basic Mechanical Skills
e) High level of integrity.
f) Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Forklift Operation.
g) High degree of safety awareness.
h) Excellent Interpersonal skills.
i) Good housekeeping and sanitation skills.
j) High level of initiative and attention to details.
k) Ability to work overtime, shifts and on call.
l) Firm understanding of ISO, HACCP, GMP and environmental standards.
m) Understanding of integrated pest management strategies.
n) Perform any other related duties which may be assigned from time to time.
5. AUTHORITY TO
a) Perform quality checks on tasks being performed.
5. PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
a) Correct product and quantity is loaded on to trucks and trailers.
b) Broken bags are kept at a minimum.
c) All tasks performed meets the safety, quality and operational guidelines set out for the Warehouse.
6. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires working in a hot, noisy and dusty environment which includes standing, walking, working at heights, lifting a maximum of 50 lbs. and sitting for prolonged periods with exposure to manufacturing areas.
