JOB SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Technician at ValuDrug Medical Associates will play a crucial role in supporting the Pharmacist with daily pharmacy operations, including the preparation and dispensing of medications, inventory control, and providing exceptional customer service. This position is integral in ensuring that patients receive the highest quality pharmaceutical care.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist pharmacists in filling prescriptions, ensuring accuracy in medication dispensing.
  • Manage pharmacy inventories, including monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and checking for expired medications.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and assisting with medication-related questions.
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Conduct health screenings and basic health checks under the supervision of the pharmacist.
  • Support the training and orientation of new staff members as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and pharmacy regulations to ensure a compliant working environment.
  • Engage in continuous education to stay updated on pharmaceutical advancements and best practices.
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks, including processing insurance claims and managing billing queries.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited institution.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a pharmacy or healthcare-related setting.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software and systems is preferred.
