Job Title: Transcriptionist & Proofreader
Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Transcriptionist & Proofreader to join our
team. This role involves accurately transcribing audio and video recordings into clear,
well-formatted written documents, as well as proofreading various types of written content to
ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
The ideal candidate has excellent listening skills, a strong grasp of grammar and punctuation,
and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Transcribe audio and video recordings into clean, accurate, and properly formatted text
- Proofread and edit transcripts and other written documents for grammar, punctuation,
- spelling, and readability
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in terminology, style, and formatting
- Follow specific style guides or client instructions as needed
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Meet project deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively
Requirements:
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Strong attention to detail and grammar proficiency
- Minimum 1 year of experience in transcription and/or proofreading roles
- Ability to interpret different accents and audio qualities
- Familiarity with transcription tools (e.g., Express Scribe, Otter.ai, Descript) is a plus
- Proficiency with word processing software (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to type 50 or more WPM
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 8am 5pm EST (with daylight saving time it will go to 9am 6pm EST)
