Boarding Representative Drive efficient ship to shore operations as the on site link between vessel command, port authorities, and our principal.
Role Summary Coordinate vessel calls, manage operational documentation, arrange husbandry services, and ensure regulatory compliance to achieve fast, safe turnarounds in a 24/7 port environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate vessel operations: manage arrivals, berthing, departures, and cargo handling.
• Liaise with stakeholders: port authorities, terminal planners, pilots, stevedores, towboats, and vessel command.
• Manage documentation and reporting: prepare Statement of Facts, Notice of Readiness, sailing telexes, operational reports, and authority submissions.
• Arrange husbandry and crew services: spares/stores, waste removal, embassy visits, surveys, and other owner/master requests.
• Ensure compliance: enforce IMO and local regulations for IMO class and special cargo; secure approvals for maintenance and special operations.
• Support post call follow up: incident surveys, lab/test reports, vendor invoices, and closure of vessel files.
• Communicate updates: provide timely status reports to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Shipping or related field, or postgraduate shipping diploma.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in shipping, port operations, or logistics.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong communication, teamwork, decision making, and complex problem solving.
• Other: Able to operate in a 24 hour on call environment; own and operate a reliable motor vehicle.
