Description
- Timely submission of booking recaps as per agreed timelines with Norfolk and LABU’s Marketing departments and second carriers.
- To prepare booking/load lists for load ready units in Jamaica and Freeport, Bahamas (Transshipment hubs).
- Timely submission of Cargo Manifest to Jamaica Customs and Terminals as per agreed timelines
- Prepare and provide Manifest for Reefers, Hazardous and OOG cargo to vessel operators and boarding agents.
- Transmit cargo manifest to various Customs across multiple jurisdictions worldwide.
- Reconcile bookings/load lists with actual cargo loaded upon completion prior to vessel departure.
- Coordinate and communicate identified discrepancies within 24 hours of vessel departure.
- To short-ship and update loading instructions for units that missed connections, such as revanned, damaged, lost and or detained units.
- To respond to emailed queries received internally and from Shippers, Consignees, terminals and ZIM agents within 24 hours of receipt.
- To reconcile terminals’ aging report with internal records and batch data according to vessels.
- To prepare and submit completed Vessel Check sheets to Manager/Supervisor upon vessel departure.
- To update diverted, hold and short shipped bills-of lading in the transshipment planning system, for vessels in assigned services, prior to the submission of the Coprar file.
- Provide information regarding seal discrepancies, certification and connecting vessel details to Jamaica

- Provide information regarding seal discrepancies, certification and connecting vessel details to Jamaica Customs and Security Administrators Limited within 24 hours of receipt.
- To provide booking and load list information to Freeport terminal, vessel operator and Cargo Flow Team at least 48 hours prior to vessels’ arrival.
Requirements
• B.Sc. in Shipping Logistics or equivalent
• Minimum of two years in the shipping industry with experience in transshipment operations and customer service.
• Good knowledge of global shipping practices, transportation, equipment, information systems and documentation requirements.
• Principles, practices and procedures of Terminal operations, cargo loading and discharge procedures.
• Understanding of Customs transshipment requirements.
• Competent in Computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and statistical databases
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Second language (Spanish) is an asset.
• Aptitude to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks, with appropriate responsiveness in a time sensitive environment.
• Ability to work outside of normal working hours, weekends and holidays.
• This job is performed both in a normal office environment, and may require visits to the Ports
• Own and operates reliable motor vehicle.
