The bearer/messenger is responsible for the secure and timely delivery of documents, packages, and materials between company locations, clients, and vendors. In addition to courier duties, this role provides support for in-store merchandising and special events, ensuring that product displays, promotional setups, and store deliveries meet company standards. The position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with store teams and event coordinators to maintain brand consistency and operational efficiency.
CORE DUTIES
Pick up and deliver mail, documents, packages, and equipment to designated locations according to daily schedules and priority
Plan routes to optimize time, fuel efficiency, and service levels using navigation tools and dispatch instructions
Maintain accurate delivery records, including timestamps, recipient signatures, and exceptions (missed deliveries, refusals, damaged items)
Uphold confidentiality protocols (e.g., HIPAA for healthcare; client confidentiality for legal/financial; internal company data privacy)
Follow chain of custody procedures for sensitive items; verify identity and authorization of recipients
Comply with traffic laws, company safety standards, and any specialized regulatory requirements (e.g., biohazard handling, restricted access sites)
Serve as a professional point of contact for internal and external recipients; communicate proactively regarding ETAs, delays, or exceptions
Support the liaison with Parish Council to ensure all store signs are legally mounted
Assist with special projects as assigned by management, including event support, promotional activities, and operational initiatives
Provide in-store merchandising support, such as setting up displays, stocking shelves, arranging promotional materials, and ensuring product presentation meets company standards
Collaborate with store teams to maintain visual merchandising guidelines and support seasonal or campaign rollouts
Help with inventory checks, product transfers, and signage updates during store visits
Support store deliveries by unloading merchandise, verifying shipment accuracy, organizing stock in designated areas, and ensuring timely handoff to store personnel
Operate company (as authorized) or personal vehicle safely; perform pre‑trip inspections (fuel, tire pressure, lights, fluid levels)
Maintain care of equipment (e.g., hand truck, scanner, mobile device, PPE) and ensure proper charging and storage daily

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent
CXC passes in Mathematics and English Language
2 years of relevant work experience (courier/messenger, delivery, mailroom, logistics, merchandising, or customer service)
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Ability to work all scheduled hours as needed
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
2+ years of relevant work experience
Valid Open General driver’s license

Handling all matters related to Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC), vehicle registration, trade licenses, taxes, utilities, and Parish Council signage promptly and in compliance with legal requirements
Technical knowledge
Ability to operate technological devices/resources, (e.g. computers, mobile phone/apps, scanners, GPS/navigation tools, etc.)
PHYSICAL/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours or more per shift)
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching to clean low areas and corners
Ability to climb stairs or ladders to reach high surfaces
Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds (e.g., trash bags, cleaning equipment, supply boxes)
Exposure to temperature changes, dust, noise, and cleaning chemicals
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, or safety goggles when required
Comfortable working in varied environments, including:
Indoor (offices, retail stores, warehouses, manufacturing floors)
Outdoor (parking lots, walkways, landscaped areas)
Reliable vehicle to support island-wide travel

Full-time; may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on operational needs.
