Mill Attendant

Job Description

1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Takes break releases from the individual roll stands and weighs same and records information.
b) Ensures that roll stands are cleaned and polished.
c) Sweeps roll floor on each operating shift.
d) Assist in the clearing of chokes.
e) Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems relating to the rolls.
f) Assists in any repair jobs for the mills when the plant is down.
g) Fills and monitors the ingredient feeder system.
h) Assumes the duties of the Assistant Shift Miller in his absence.
i) Adheres to all safety regulations as required.
j) Repairs roll belts and feeder belts.
k) Adjusts rolls when necessary.
l) Weighing ingredients and record information on prescribed forms.
m) Performs any other related duty as assigned from time to time.

2. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
a) High School or technical level education.
b) At least two (2) year’s working experience.
c) Basic computing skills
d) Basic training in Milling technology.
e) Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
f) Well-developed understanding of milling process and of the different types of flour.
g) Sound knowledge of the use of the computerized control panel.

a) Intermediate troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
b) Strong commitment to safety.
c) Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
d) Ability to work overtime, shifts and on call.
e) Firm understanding of ISO, HACCP, GMP and environmental standards.
f) Understanding of integrated pest management strategies.
